Strengthening the lives of children and adults with special needs by supporting them to participate in the community.

Experience working with children and/or adults with special needs, preferable. Related life or volunteer experiences are also applicable for this role. Training and support is provided based on the individual needs of the person.

The contract positions vary on the needs of the individual and/or family. Children and/or adults are assisted to develop new skills while having fun, encouraging independence and inclusion.

Hours are flexible and worked out between you and the person/family you support. Day, evening and weekend hours available. The hours available can be based on your availability e.g. Day only or weekends. The amount of hours is also flexible and based on availability of contracts. Scheduling is worked out mutually between you and the person(s) you support.

New families and individuals are continuously requiring services therefore recruitment is ongoing for this role. Positions available in Stratford, St. Marys, Milverton, Listowel and surrounding areas in Perth County.

The Support/Respite positions are contract, self employed. Families and caregivers are provided funding to purchase individualized supports.

COVID-19 considerations:

We work within the current guidelines set out by the Public Health and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services directives. An individual Support Plan includes options for virtual support, PPE and training, as needed.

Expected hours: 5 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed
