Regional Coordinator, Oakville ON- Reconnection Project 

About the Role

Environmental Defence Canada (EDC) is a leading Canadian environmental advocacy organization that works with government, industry and individuals to defend clean water, a safe climate and healthy communities. EDC is looking for a Regional Coordinator that would support our efforts to engage communities in the GTA. This role is part-time with about 8-16 hours per week at a rate of $24 an hour. 

Purpose of the Role

We know that community connection and civic engagement is at the heart of real and effective environmental change. By connecting people with nature and neighbors, we can build more resilient communities in a changing climate. The Regional Coordinator would be leading Outreach cohorts and supporting our efforts to engage communities regarding gardening, hiking, biking, food security or anything else they’d like to see within their neighborhood. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conducting outreach to local groups

  •  Mapping out all potential events where we can participate 

  •  Participating in and/or leading events

  •  Building a volunteer network

  •  Plan and/or execute canvassing and other message deployment efforts

  •  Participating in message development

  •  Creating content

  •  Identify tactics that will help in recruiting supporters to this effort

  •  Assisting in project budget reconciliation  

Location

This role is located in Oakville, ON, and having access to a vehicle is an asset. We kindly ask that candidates that are based in Oakville only apply since commuting isn't an option for this position.
