Project Lead – CHATS NORC Initiative

The Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Quality & Strategic Initiatives, you will be responsible to implement CHATS NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) Program using a combination of community engagement, partnership, program co-design and coordination to efficiently deliver on-site social support and health service programming opportunities.

The role involves continuous quality improvement and aims to implement solutions that are inclusive, accessible and engaging that will support the overall well-being of residents and their evolving needs.

One Year contract - Full-time position - 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. with occasional work outside of business hours.

Key responsibilities of the position:

  • To provide project management that results in the establishment of NORC programs.

  • To create a comprehensive engagement strategy that results in strong relationships with residents, families and community partners and ensures a collaborative approach to service delivery.

  • To initiate program development and implementation to support the identified needs of residents, including processes/mechanisms to gather on-going input and identify emerging needs.

  • To design and implement an evaluation framework to measure the effectiveness and impact of all aspects of the initiative.

 What you bring to the role:

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Gerontology, Recreation, Community Development or related field.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in project management, program design, coordination or related role, preferably working with older adults.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Experience with community engagement, event planning and co-design.

  • Experience building partnerships.

  • Excellent assessment, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/documentation skills.

  • Experience working in multi-partner initiatives is preferred.

  • Compassionate, proactive and dedicated to improving the lives of older adults.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel Outlook and database applications (GoldCare).

  • A valid Ontario drivers’ license and a vehicle are required for this position.

  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends.

  • Knowledgeable about Ontario’s Healthcare System an asset.

  • Knowledge of aging in place, accessibility, inclusive design and quality improvement processes an asset.

  • Fluency in both official languages (English & French) and/or other language(s), an asset.
