The Program Officer will be working closely with the HelpAge Canada Team in the delivery of an exciting flagship program, Canada HomeShare. This is a one year contract with the possibility of moving to permanent full time or a contract extension.

Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, primary duties and responsibilities include coordinating community needs (including onboarding new Canada HomeShare communities) and supporting in program expansion through presentations and proposals to prospective communities/ partners. The Program Officer will execute delegated components of the annual workplan and implement ongoing program improvements (including working closely with the delivery partner to implement updates to the technology platform). The Program Officer will provide general administrative and correspondence support for the Canada HomeShare program, collect data for program evaluation, and contribute to drafting reports.

The Program Officer is a motivated self-starter, with strong organization, project planning/management and communication skills (oral and written). They are able to collaborate remotely, and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders to create resources, resolve problems, and deliver on commitments. The Program Officer is able to travel occasionally for business development or program delivery purposes.

Please note that this is a hybrid position and involves some in-office presence at our office (1300 Carling Avenue, Ottawa).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Canada HomeShare Program, the Associate Executive Director and Partners
  • Coordinating Partner needs, onboarding, resource provision, etc.
  • Working closely with the delivery partner to implement updates to the technology platform
  • Updating key program resources with other stakeholders/ contractors, as required
  • Drafting presentations and proposals in support of new partnership development
  • Executing the delegated components of the annual workplan and reporting on progress to the Program Director
  • Providing general administrative and correspondence support as required for the Canada HomeShare program
  • Collecting data for program evaluation
  • Drafting reports and otherwise contributing to the evaluation and reporting responsibilities of the Program Director as requested
  • Liaising with the Marketing and Communications Officer to support in campaign and communications implementation
  • Other duties as assigned
