Program Development Lead
– FULL TIME, Flexible 4 or 5 day work option

Autism Home Base is an innovative charity serving autistic adults and their families. We enrich lives through adapted social and recreational opportunities that help our members get active, share resources, practice skills, build friendships and live their best lives surrounded by a supportive, educated community.

The Program Development Lead will develop and deliver new social, recreational and wellness programs to expand our existing suite of offerings to autistic adults and their family caregivers. This is a fun, fast-paced environment growing quickly to respond to and reflect the needs of our community.

  • research and recommend programs that enrich the lives of our member participants

  • recruit and manage venues and instructors

  • contribute to seasonal event planning

  • lead program delivery which may include providing instruction or supporting participants

  • supervise placement and summer students

  • participate in and contribute to sector committees or conferences

  • support the development and roll-out of new high school transition program 

  • support organizational priority initiatives including World Autism Day and fundraising events

Qualifications

  • Career or lived experience for deep understanding of 'autisms' across the spectrum 

  • Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Advanced skills in adapting programs for neurodivergent individuals with diverse support needs

  • Ability to train and evaluate program partners and instructors

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with high level of diplomacy and objectivity

  • Tech savvy, ability to navigate cloud-based infrastructure

  • Ability to travel within the region and work flexible hours, as required

  • Entrepreneurial, creative self- starter spirit is highly valued
