Program and Communications Coordinator - Athletics4Kids

Athletics For Kids Financial Assistance Society (A4K) provides families in need with financial assistance to pay for registration fees for their children’s sports. We believe that all BC children should have the opportunity to play sports to realize their full potential, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Position Overview
The Program and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for managing the adjudication, tracking, and reporting of sports grant submissions. This role requires effective communication with families and key stakeholders, meticulous budget monitoring, and the creation of detailed visual reports. The ideal candidate will also assist with data entry, financial duties, marketing, and fundraising activities.
This is a full-time position with flexible hours, some remote work and 4 weeks vacation.

Responsibilities

Grant Adjudication
•Evaluate sports grant submissions in accordance with A4K eligibility guidelines
•Communicate effectively with families and key stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships

Reporting and Monitoring
•Track and report on sports grants monthly to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
•Monitor the monthly grant budget and ensure accurate allocation

Data Management and Financial Assistance
•Create visual reports (graphs, pie charts, etc.) on grant data as requested
•Assist with data entry of grant applications, payments, and donation revenue
•Assist in issuing tax receipts and other finance-related duties as required

Marketing and Communications
•Contribute to the marketing and social media plan
•Develop content for the newsletter, blog, social media, and website

Fundraising and Events
•Assist in planning and executing fundraising and community events

Qualifications

Experience
•Administrative and/or communications experience is essential
•Nonprofit work experience and experience with QuickBooks Online and Keela are assets
•Experience in creating and managing marketing/promotional materials, including social media content, is an asset

Skills
•Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and communication software
•Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a professional and friendly phone manner and email etiquette
