Outreach Worker (WHCO): Full Time Contract - Woodview, Mental Health and Autism Services

Job Title:                                           Outreach Worker

Position:                                            3 Month Full Time Contract

Salary Range:                                    $54,320 annually

Reports to:                                         Program Manager

Position Summary: 


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing home, school and community based assessment and treatment for children ages 6 - 17 with mental health needs and/or behavioral needs

  • Providing consultation, support and training to parents and schools

  • Chairing Service Coordination meetings as required

  • Travel throughout the Halton Region

  • Maintaining all records and reports as required by the Centre’s policies and procedures

  • Facilitating Treatment Groups as required ie) co –facilitating YODA and Parent YODA, running a Social Skills group, Anxiety group, dual diagnosis group, co-facilitating Day Treatment weekly evening Parent Group

  • Providing day treatment classroom coverage, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Registered Psychotherapist, Master of Social Work, Bachelor of Social Work or CYC with 3 or more years of direct counseling and/or outreach experience with youth in a clinical setting 

  • Minimum of 3 years providing treatment to youth with mental health needs

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including 3 evenings per week, as needed

  • Valid driver’s license and daily use of own vehicle

  • Valid police check

  • Experience counseling youth using the following modalities: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavior Management Skills

  • Proven ability to manage time and caseload independently as well as function as supportive member of treatment team

  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
