The Period Purse (TPP) is dedicated to ensuring sustainable access to period products for all while working to end period stigma through education and advocacy. Our Outreach Program provides essential menstrual supplies and education to individuals experiencing period poverty, fosters strong community partnerships, and ensures seamless inventory management and distribution.

We’re looking for an Outreach Assistant to play a key role in coordinating product donations, managing inventory, supporting volunteer events, and ensuring efficient distribution to community partners. Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Product Distribution

  • Maintain accurate inventory of period products and education supplies.
  • Track incoming and outgoing product donations and ensure timely distribution.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate restocking as needed.
  • Receive, organize, and store products from purchases, bulk donations, and small-scale contributions.
  • Manage logistics for pickups and drop-offs with community partners and donors.

Packing Party Coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of Packing Parties, where volunteers assemble period kits for distribution.
  • Coordinate scheduling, supply management, and logistics for Packing Parties.
  • Engage volunteers and corporate partners, ensuring smooth event execution.
  • Attend and provide on-site support for monthly Packing Parties/Dymon Days at Dymon Storage.
  • Track participation and measure the impact of Packing Parties.

Community Mini-Drive Coordination

  • Assist in organizing community-led Mini-Drives for period products.
  • Provide guidance and resources to individuals and organizations hosting drives.
  • Track product donations and manage logistics for deliveries or pickups.
  • Support outreach efforts to increase participation in Mini-Drives.

Community Partner Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities to expand TPP’s outreach efforts.
  • Communicate regularly with partners to assess their needs and provide support.
  • Work with the Education team to connect interested community partners with menstrual health education opportunities.
  • Support the Advocacy, Research, and Communications Manager in engaging community partners for research and advocacy initiatives.

Intake & Distribution Requests

  • Oversee the intake process for organizations requesting menstrual product support.
  • Respond to inquiries from individuals and organizations seeking assistance.
  • Maintain accurate records of requests and distributions using CRM (Keela).
  • Ensure all distribution efforts are handled equitably and efficiently.

Database & Financial Administration

  • Maintain outreach-related databases using Airtable or other inventory tracking tools.
  • Generate reports and insights to improve outreach strategy.
  • Train team members and volunteers on database tools as needed.
  • Update CRM records for community outreach and engagement.
  • Support the Finance and Operations Manager with administrative tasks and expense tracking.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in logistics, community outreach, nonprofit operations, retail, or related fields (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strength in math is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage physical inventory and lift 25 lbs boxes in and out of vehicles and storage units.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Airtable, Google Workspace, and other project management tools (preferred).
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
