Houses Opening Today Toronto (HOTT) is a non-profit organization that develops and manages affordable rental housing. Our portfolio includes fourteen small to medium-sized properties in Toronto. HOTT also offers specialized support services to our most vulnerable residents.

Job Posting – Operations Administrator – Full-time
HOTT seeks a permanent full-time Operations Administrator to be responsible for the administration of duties at all HOTT properties. The position offers a competitive salary, flexible working hours and health benefits.

Overview of Position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations Administrator contributes to quality living environments consistent with HOTT’s mission and values. This position works collaboratively with HOTT staff and tenants.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitors, records, and communicates incoming and ongoing work orders with maintenance team and trades
  • Participates in on-boarding new computerized property management system for the ongoing maintenance of HOTT properties
  • Generates 24-hour notices of entry and ensures timely delivery to tenants
  • Provides in-office coverage twice weekly at one of our HOTT properties, including the handling of rental payments and liaising with support staff
  • Maintains timely and appropriate logbooks, time sheets, schedules, and other documentation
  • Participates in performing unit inspections if required
  • Assists with maintaining key control system and inventory
  • Assists with up-keep of inventory and purchasing
  • Regular on-call duties, shared with other staff on a rotational basis
  • Attends Annual General Meetings, Strategy Day and Board of Directors meetings as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and punctuality
  • Excellent customer service skill with sensitivity towards working with marginalized populations
  • A valid driver’s license as well as access to a vehicle at all times
  • Ability to work co-operatively with tenants, staff, trades, and community resources
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations
  • Ability to use standard workplace computer applications and software such as MS Office
  • A current police reference check
Helpful to have:
Emergency First Aid and CPR certification
Languages other than English
