Marketing and Communications Officer - The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships
The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) is inviting applications for the position of Marketing and Communications Officer. Our ideal candidate has up to three years of experience in a communications or marketing role, an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and solid, demonstrable professional experience in managing social media channels and websites, marketing and graphic design.
Attention to detail, curiosity and creativity are key, as is the ability to quickly — and accurately — write in an informative and engaging manner for a variety of audiences (elected officials, policymakers, media, the general public, contractors, lawyers, consultants, financiers etc.).
This is a full-time, permanent position in a hybrid working environment located in Toronto with the occasional need for flexibility for evening meetings or events as needed. Occasional travel may be required.

Established in 1993, CCPPP is a national not-for-profit non-partisan, member-based organization with broad and unique representation from across the public and private sectors. Our members represent the leading construction, engineering, legal, and advisory firms, banks and financiers, and operators and facilities maintenance firms working hard to build Canada’s much needed public infrastructure as well as the public sector owners.
The Council’s vision is to shape the future of Canada’s infrastructure and services by delivering value to Canadians through Public-Private Partnerships (P3s). The Council does this through:
- Convening both public and private market participants to discuss leading practices and harness lessons learned and adapting the model as needed;
- Advocating for the use of public-private partnership models, where appropriate to build a sustained pipeline of projects across the country; and
- Conducting research to support evidence-based decision making and demonstrate the benefits of the model.
ABOUT THE JOB
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Communications, the Communications Officer will:
- Develop social media posts, maintain social media calendar and investigate new ways to attract and inform followers
- Maintain and update Council’s website to drive greater traffic and more engaging content
- Produce daily news clipping package on deadline for distribution to CCPPP members
- Capture, analyze and report on communication analytics
- Design social media graphics and edit images and video
- Support the planning and execution of meetings, gatherings and special events including the Annual Conference
- Write communication products, including news releases, presentations, articles, newsletters and reports as required
- Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as required
RELEVANT SKILLS
- Website management experience using Kentico, WordPress and/or HTML
- Social media management experience on behalf of a non-profit, association or company, especially using LinkedIn to engage with a professional audience and using X to monitor for political, policy and business news
- Excellent eye for creating impactful graphic design and in selecting the right image for a project
- Solid writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as organization and time-management skills
- Interest in politics, business and current affairs are assets
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and Canva
- Experience with the YourMembership platform and Higher Logic (Informz) email marketing software are assets
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Bilingualism is an asset
- Experience with deadline reporting is also an asset
In addition, a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or other relevant field is required. Relevant work experience in combination with education will be considered.
Salary Range: $60,000 to $72,000
