Yorktown Family Services provides a comprehensive range of mental health services for children, youth, young adults and families who are experiencing serious emotional/social/behavioural difficulties along with several gender-based violence initiatives. Yorktown Family Services is looking for a highly skilled individual to manage our Brief Services Programs and Intake.

Primary Function
To manage all functions related to Brief Services and Intake, including a team of therapists.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of clinical decisions, operational flow, staffing, quality improvement, and client record keeping in all brief services programs, including; mental health walk-in clinics, virtual rapid access therapy, and Youth Wellness Hub Ontario (YWHO) brief services programming
  • Oversight of operational flow, staffing, quality improvement, client record keeping within our Intake Function
  • Direct supervision of a team of therapists
  • Work cross-functionally with other supervisors and managers through our integrated care approach
  • Ensure all legislative and accreditation standards are being practiced in all oversight of programming.
  • Represent Yorktown at various network tables related to brief services and intake
  • Complete regular file audits to ensure compliance with agency and accreditation standards
  • Attend and support our internal evidence-based practice committee
  • Participate and co-lead diversity, cultural competency, and equity related to therapeutic interventions and program design
  • Develop protocols, and sustain current protocols related to crisis management to ensure staff and client safety
  • Ensure intake processes and access to service are equitable and based on priority need.
  • Ensure all screening tools related to intake and brief services are completed
  • Monitor program participants that might present a harm to self or others and set-up case conferences as needed
  • Lead community presentations
  • Provide on-call services for a week every 6-8 weeks
Qualifications
  • Minimum MSW, MACP, or equivalent
  • Registered to a professional college; either College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience in the area of infant, child, youth, and young adult mental health
  • Has a strong understanding of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Family Systems Therapy
  • A good understanding of trauma in relation to community violence, systemic racism, domestic violence, and child mistreatment
  • A strong understanding of how racism, systems of oppression, and social exclusion can lead to social isolation that may contribute to mental health problems
  • A strong understanding of how the Priority Neighborhood Improvement (PNI) system works
  • Enthusiasm and skill working to support change with a multi-challenged, diverse client population
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report and exceptional presentation skills
  • Superb interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience supervising in an Inter-disciplinary team setting
  • Be able to set boundaries with workload and have a strong self-care network
  • Has demonstrated the ability to manage sensitive information and develop communication strategies to message according to alignment with risk level or opportunity
  • Is able to identify risk to people and the organization; and provide the appropriate risk mitigation strategies 
  • Has a passion for an anti-oppressive/anti-racism approach along with working from a strength-based/empowerment approach
  • Has demonstrated the ability to have transparent communication with colleagues. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends may be essential
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening is required
  • Access to a reliable vehicle is a definite asset
