Job Title: Manager, Fund Development
Reports to: Director, Fund Development
Summary:
The Manager, Fund Development leads and implements fundraising activities that include core events, third-party fundraising activities and annual giving.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Engagement/Donor Engagement/Annual Giving
- Works in collaboration with Director, Fund Development to advance the unrestricted giving pipeline
- Work in collaboration with Marketing and Service Delivery team in collecting information for fundraising purposes
- Manages and provides support for various marketing and communications related to promoting giving or engaging prospective donors for annual giving
- Develop and implement effective strategies to nurture and sustain long-term donor relationships
- Plan and execute various fundraising efforts throughout the year, including regular fundraising campaigns and corporate engagement
- Actively identify opportunities to promote and build annual giving across available channels
- Builds short term and long-term goals and objectives for donor retention and acquisition
- Uses Raisers Edge, ensures clear tracking of all donor activities including opportunities and pledges
- Leads donor recognition and stewardship activities
- Acts as a representative of BBBST at various in-person or virtual events and meetings that support the work of the agency
- Together with the finance team ensures tax receipting is completed on a timely basis and in accordance with CRA tax receipting rules
- Other duties as assigned
- Manages and oversees Fundraising & Events Specialist
- Leads and manages the event planning and third-party events fundraising activities, which includes BBBST’s Signature Annual Gala called Big Night Out.
- Responsible for all revenue generation for Big Night Out and other signature fundraising events
- Manages fundraising events committee and provides necessary support with prospecting and outreach
- Manages and supports fundraising committees particularly supporting the Honorary Chair of BBBST Gala Big Night Out fundraising committee.
- Works in collaboration with Service Delivery to collect or transmit information to BIGS or Littles on matters related to the Gala including but not limited to Award selection and Gala attendance
- Manages and provides support for various marketing and communications related to promoting events or engaging prospective donors for annual giving
- Manages the relationship with vendors, oversee event budget, support events staff, overseeing branding and creative assets, and program development
- Stakeholder building and relationship management including donors, volunteers, board members, and committee members for Big Night Out
- Acts as a representative of BBBST at various in-person fundraising events and meetings that support the work of the agency
- Other duties as assigned
- University or college equivalent in fundraising education or a minimum 4-5 years of fundraising experience
- Minimum of 3 years in event planning and implementation
- Knowledge and practical usage of Raiser’s Edge a strong asset
- Must be detailed oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Able to multi-task as well as problem solve.
- Ability to work outside customary business hours during periods leading up to and during major events – includes some weekends and evenings.
- Strong knowledge and practical usage of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Having CFRE designation or in process of obtaining CFRE designation is seen as an asset.
- Successful vulnerable sector police clearance
