Manager, Donor Experience - United Way Greater Toronto

Manager, Donor Experience
 
United Way Greater Toronto is looking for an experienced, strategic, and engaging Manager, Donor Experience, to join our team at our Toronto office.
 
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Experience, the Manager, Donor Experience is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing stewardship and recognition programs and activities that inspire continued giving and deepen relationships with United Way individual and corporate donors.
  
What you’ll do:
  • Design, implement, and evaluate stewardship and recognition programs, in collaboration with Individual Donor, Corporate Donor and Donor Experience teams, for individual and corporate donor portfolios, collaborating with other departments and maintaining workflows, briefings, and any other necessary documentation
  • Design and implement stewardship and recognition donor journeys for various donor segments
  • Review program regularly for effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies including strategies for using CRM technology and other tools
  • Work with other United Ways in North America and Centraides in Canada, to align, share and execute National and International corporate stewardship and recognition programs
  • Plan and coordinate local recognition and stewardship events and logistics, as required
  • Serve as a strategic partner with Individual Donor Relations, offering execution support, advice and guidance that ensures comprehensive, coordinated stewardship and recognition of major and mid-level giving donors
  • Responsible for implementation and execution of stewardship and recognition materials to support the cultivation of prospects, donors, and people of influence
  • Oversee a high-touch stewardship program that uses telephone, letters, email, and other channels to communicate timely acknowledgment to donors
  • Regularly monitor and assure that recognition obligations are met and followed up with in a timely and consistent manner, with a particular focus on targeted gift agreements
  • Develop and assess policies, procedures, and metrics that are essential for a comprehensive donor stewardship and recognition program
  • Conduct research on stewardship and recognition program ideas, participate in relevant professional groups and stay abreast of stewardship and recognition best practices to identify and implement
What you’ll need to be successful:
  • More than 5 years of fundraising experience or equivalent relevant experience, with proven donor relationship building skills
  • Proven organizational abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to work with numbers and proven track record of accuracy
  • Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision
  • Ability to gather and analyze information needed for problem solving and decision making
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and manage contentious issues to resolution
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and use of database software
  • Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive, and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Event planning and execution experience an asset
  • Volunteer management experience an asset
