Manager, Direct Response

How you will make a difference:
 
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Strategy, the Manager, Direct Response will develop and execute direct marketing strategies, with a focus on donor acquisition and migration.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Marketing Strategy in the development and execution of multi-channel direct-to-donor acquisition and migration strategies, leveraging tactics including but not limited to mail, email, social/digital and donor journeys.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to effectively execute all elements of direct mail campaigns including data strategies & list-pulls, creative development, test plans, print and mail production.
  • Work with digital marketing teams to support online fundraising campaigns, using email, social media, and other digital channels to engage donors and encourage giving.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Marketing Strategy and the Business Intelligence team on reporting and review of analysis to inform data-driven decisions; timely monitoring of campaign results and adapting to optimize revenue.
  • Work closely and manage relationships with external vendors, including freelance creative teams and mail production partners, to ensure projects are kept on-track, on-time and on-budget.
  • Work with colleagues within and across teams to develop detailed communication and solicitation plans to support business objectives.
  • Lead development of status reports and workback schedules for direct marketing program.
  • Oversee direct marketing budget.
  • Provide marketing support cross-departmentally, when requested.  
What you bring to the role:
  • Minimum 3-5 years managing direct marketing campaigns, including creative development, data management, oversight of mail production process and managing budgets.  (Fundraising experience an asset)
  • Experience in email communication development and production management.
  • A test-and-learn mindset, along with proven ability to analyze direct marketing results, statistically and qualitatively.
  • Google Analytics, Salesforce CRM & Marketing Cloud experience an asset.
  • Highly skilled at project management including the development and detailed oversight of workback schedules, management of status reports, budget tracking, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of creative development process including briefing, evaluation of concepts and print & mail production techniques.
  • Excellent time management skills along with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office, especially advanced Excel Skills
  • Direct Mail experience required.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population and multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive self-starter who works collaboratively but is also comfortable initiating projects and working autonomously.
  • Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally.
