We are seeking a Manager, Community and Events. You are a strategic and dynamic fundraising professional with a strong track record in executing high-impact events, engaging donor communities, and driving revenue growth. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing TR Canada’s mission by leading the development and execution of national fundraising events, community engagement initiatives, and online fundraising campaigns. As the Manager, Community and Events, you will drive donor engagement, secure sponsorships, and oversee event strategy, ensuring a seamless experience for stakeholders while achieving revenue and growth objectives.
The right person is a self-starter, and team player with strong event management experience and excellent oral and written communication skills. Duties:
- Lead the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of national fundraising events, ensuring alignment with TR Canada’s goals and brand identity.
- Oversee event logistics, budget management, and procurement for successful execution.
- Develop sponsorship and partnership strategies to secure financial and in-kind support.
- Establish and maintain a framework for national and regional fundraising events to enhance community engagement.
- Manage corporate partnership strategies, engaging businesses in fundraising initiatives and sponsorships.
- Lead execution of online fundraising campaigns, including peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate TR Canada’s presence at conferences and community events to maximize visibility and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage donor recognition and community fundraising events, and conference engagements.
- Negotiate and manage sponsor contracts, nurture donor relations to promote long-term engagement.
- Implement data-driven strategies to track event success, donor retention, and campaign performance
- Recruit, train, and manage a volunteer team to support event and community engagement efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Background
- Bachelor’s degree (in Nonprofit Management, Event Management, Communications, or equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive years of experience in development, fundraising, and managing events for a non-profit organization.
- CFRE designation is beneficial.
- Proven track record of successfully planning, organizing, and executing high-profile fundraising events, including budget and ROI management, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven expertise in developing strategy and managing a fundraising portfolio, building campaign metrics, donor journey, and stewardship.
- Demonstrated ability to engage donors and secure funding for events through various channels.
- Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive communications for various stakeholders and event-related materials.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in fundraising technology and project management tools (Asana, Bloomerang, Microsoft Office Suite, QGiv).
- Passion for the mission and values of TR Canada.
Job Type:
- Full-time, contract (maternity leave backfill - ends 31 May 2026)
- Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000

- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Occasional travel, including overnight travel across North America, including deployment to disaster response operations.
- Must be comfortable working in austere conditions when required.
- Fluency in Canada’s Official Languages an asset.
