The Human Resources Co-ordinator is responsible for supporting various HR functions, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our human resources department. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills. There is a focus on supporting recruitment and onboarding activities and providing administrative support to the Human Resources department. 

What You'll Do:

  • Performs routine administrative functions such as data entry, correspondence formatting scheduling, mailings, shredding, mail, courier, ordering of supplies, attendance tracking, file maintenance
  • Actively participates in the recruitment process to ensure diverse candidate pipelines.
  • Organizes the hiring process; including creating and posting jobs, interview set-up, preparing the interview question template and sharing with the hiring committee 
  • Conduct reference checks for candidates by composing questions, providing summaries to Human Resources Manager 
  • Organizes and prepares the offer of employment packages and tracks receipt of all employment documents
  • Collaborate with the Director of Inclusive Excellence, the HR team, and leadership to assist in development and implementation of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives for employees
  • Oversees the BSS Service Award Program gifts; orders and liaises with the service provider and staff
  • Organizes travel, conference registration, expense reports and VISA reconciliation
  • Co-ordinates, schedules and documents the Crisis Management and the Health and Safety Committee meetings

Who You Are:

  • Human Resources education, either university degree or diploma
  • Recruitment experience, including verbal references, writing interviewing questions, and interviewing
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to prepare presentations, including graphics, tables, charts etc 
  • Ability to take accurate Committee meeting minutes
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and is able to proactively problem-solve
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy in order to deal with sensitive/confidential matters
