Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant is an integral part of a busy and dynamic Human Resources Department.  In this role you will be expected to support the HR Team with administrative and recruitment activities.  You will demonstrate quality customer service orientation, apply good problem-solving abilities, and possess a strong ability to collaborate as a member of the HR team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide correspondence, reports, tracking, and all other documentation required by the Director.
  • Responsible for providing general administrative support to the Human Resource Director and HR team as required (i.e. database management, formatting letters, photocopying, processing invoices, emailing, updating forms, etc.).
  • Responsible for the professional documentation of and general administrative support for team meetings and Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, etc. (i.e. minutes, agenda).
  • Supports the recruitment process through posting jobs; sourcing and pre-screening applicants; scheduling interviews; performing background checks and making offers.
  • Provide administrative support to summer recruitment initiative.
  • Maintains the HRIS including regularly updating the applicant tracking system, entering employee data accurately, and generating reports.
  • Assists with special projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
  • University degree or college certificate in Human Resources or related field.
  • Recent graduating students or graduate students are welcomed to apply.
  • Completed or currently pursuing a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G or G2) and access to a reliable vehicle and Insurance.
  • Proficient with PC computer environment; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with families as necessary.
