  • Track and report on fundraising KPIs (e.g., donor retention, grant success rates) to optimize strategies and demonstrate ROI.
2. Donor Pipeline Development & Stewardship
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to attract next-generation donors through digital campaigns, social media outreach, and community engagement.
  • Work with Executive Director to strengthen legacy giving opportunities through planned giving programs, donor education, and tailored stewardship for long-term supporters.
  • Oversee donor database to track interactions, measure campaign success, and segment audiences for personalized outreach.
3. Marketing & Communications Leadership
  • Work with Executive Director to implement a communications strategy to elevate brand awareness via social media, newsletters, and the website (www.hoctoronto.com).
  • Produce mission-driven content (impact stories, videos, reports) highlighting resident successes and donor impact.
  • Support collaborations with Yorkminster Park Baptist Church to co-create awareness campaigns and leverage shared networks.
4. Capital & Partnership Development
  • Support the Executive Director and Board in developing phased capital funding strategies for priority capital projects.
  • Work to deepen strategic alignment with Yorkminster Park Baptist Church to expand shared resources and funding opportunities.
  • Support the development of partnerships with Toronto mental health organizations, housing advocates, and corporate stakeholders.
Qualifications

Essential
  • 3+ years of nonprofit experience in fundraising and communications/marketing.
  • Proven success securing grants from foundations, corporations, or government funders.

  • In-depth understanding of the mental health and housing landscape in Toronto, with familiarity of relevant networks and funding sources.
  • Knowledge of capital fundraising or facility development projects.
Preferred
  • CFRE designation or commitment to pursue within 12 months.
  • Experience collaborating with faith-based organizations and/or community health partners.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Raiser’s Edge), digital fundraising platforms, and content creation tools (Canva, Hootsuite).
Work Environment
  • Small, collaborative team serving 21 residents in a 24/7 supportive housing community.
  • Hybrid work model with office space in Toronto’s Queen West neighborhood.
  • Occasional evening/weekend work for donor meetings or other activities and events.
  • Values-driven environment prioritizing dignity, collaboration, and innovation.
