 ABOUT YOU

You have a:

  • Deep understanding and demonstrated success in fundraising, integrated communications and portfolio management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of individuals, including the ability to recruit, motivate, and lead a team of staff
  • Ability to think and act independently as well as collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations on fundraising priority development, strategy development is critical
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated success in proposal development and in conducting face to face meetings for major solicitations
  • Demonstrated experience in the full spectrum of development including fundraising policies, solicitations, stewardship, donor recognition, administration, and management
  • Appreciates the challenge of a busy environment and working under pressure.
  • Strong time management, project management, financial planning, and budgetary skills
  • Required to adopt and apply the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) code of ethics in daily practices

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Fund Development Manager is a new position at PADS and has the unique opportunity to shape the future success and growth of the organization. It is a full-time (37.5 hr/week) permanent position based out of Burnaby, BC. You will provide strategic direction, leadership, and daily management to our Fund Development department. You will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing our Fund Development program, building strong relationships with donors, clients, and staff, and providing strategic leadership to support PADS in achieving its organizational goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Activate existing fundraising plans and establish forecasts and action plans. Develop SMART fundraising priorities and metrics aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Fund Development: Implement an integrated Fund Development program, produce major donor solicitations, build relationships with donors and prospects, and oversee all fundraising activities.
  • Supervisory & Department Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the Fund Development team, execute departmental plans, and drive team engagement and performance development.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of fundraising, donor portfolio management, and technology systems. Previous experience in a fast-paced environment and familiarity with fundraising best practices.
  • Behavioural Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills, collaboration mindset, strong communication abilities, and effective time management and project management skills.
  • Education and Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably in fundraising or related fields. Post-secondary education in relevant fields preferred, CFRE designation attained or in progress is considered an asset.

Compensation

Salary Range: $65-$75K commensurate with experience.
