The Role:
The Finance Coordinator will play a key role in supporting Second Harvest’s financial operations. You will oversee and act as the main point of contact for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of financial processes while maintaining professional interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Your Impact:
  • Manage the Accounts Payable email inbox, logging and processing expense claims, invoices, and credit card transactions using the Financial Edge accounting system.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all Accounts Payable activities, providing timely communication with vendors and resolving payment-related queries.
  • Process payments via EFT, wire transfer, or cheque with precision and efficiency.
  • Generate accurate Accounts Receivable (AR) non-donation invoices and maintain the AR tracking record.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for raffle accounts and GICs.
  • Follow established procedures for receipts, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Support month-end journal entries and closing processes.
  • Identify and escalate unresolved discrepancies to the Director of Finance, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Maintain and update Finance-related files and documentation.
  • Assist with interim and annual financial audits.

  • Diligent and Results-Driven: You know how to get the job done, doing whatever it takes to meet and exceed goals.
  • Technical: You have a very high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (in particular, Excel). Previous experience with Financial Edge NXT, or other accounting software programs would be considered an asset.
Previous education and/or experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, along with Previous experience working with not-for-profits and knowledge of GAAP would be considered an asset.
