Executive Director - Katzie First Nation Affordable Housing Development Society

Aug 08, 2025
Pitt Meadows, British Columbia

The Katzie are traditional hənq̓əmínəm̓ speaking people. Most of our strong and growing community of over 600 members continue to live in our traditional territory. We continue, despite the devastating impacts of residential schools and the forced imposition of other colonial policies, to celebrate, strengthen, and practice the knowledge and traditions of our Ancestors.

The Katzie First Nation Affordable Housing Society (KFNAHDS) is in the process of opening three brand new, purpose-built residences to meet multiple critical needs of Katzie Nation members. Two of the buildings will be licensed and will provide specific supports, and the third will provide affordable housing for members. To oversee the successful operation of these residences, the Society is looking for a new Executive Director.

The Executive Director of the KFNAHDS will oversee the programming, operations, and maintenance of three new residence buildings that meet the critical needs of Nation members. In addition to ensuring the smooth transition to occupancy, the Executive Director will hire and work alongside a team that will support all aspects of the organization as well as residents. They will oversee the operations of all properties and programs to the cultural and quality standards Katzie Nation and its members expect, and will ensure the Katzie Nation vision and approach is well represented and understood amongst partners such as BC Housing, the Ministry of Children & Family Development, Fraser Health Authority, and others. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be the primary point person for the Society, and will work to raise the profile of the organization while actively managing relations with KFNAHDS’s partners, including the residents, staff, community, government, developer partners and donors.

As the ideal candidate, you are a self-starter and an extraordinary leader who blends deep-rooted community values with business effectiveness, and who has worked in partnership with community as well as with a myriad of other external partners to deliver housing and other programming. You have an entrepreneurial approach and have experience running all aspects of an organization with an understanding of the unique nature of an enterprise that provides social services, ideally within an Indigenous context. You have worked closely with Boards of Directors to guide strategy development and set priorities, and you are an outstanding motivator and mentor of staff teams. Your experience in housing operations and social service program delivery is ideally augmented by a university degree in a relevant program.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $140,000, and an offer will consider the candidate’s experience and readiness to take on the role.
