Location: Remote (with in-person event work and occasional travel)

The Period Purse (TPP) is dedicated to achieving menstrual equity by providing sustainable access to period products and eliminating the stigma surrounding menstruation through education and advocacy. Our Education and Outreach programs empower communities with awareness, education, and support.
We’re looking for an Events and Conference Assistant to help us coordinate and execute impactful events, engage volunteers, and expand our educational outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Event Research & Planning
- Identify new educational and community event opportunities.
- Research industry trends, potential partnerships, and event venues.
- Analyze past event performance to improve future programming.
- Identify key conferences and events to promote menstrual health education.
Outreach & Relationship Building
- Connect with schools, community organizations, and corporate groups to expand educational event participation.
- Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions and event partners.
- Develop outreach strategies to increase engagement and awareness.
Event Coordination & Execution
- Plan, organize, and manage in-person and virtual educational events.
- Ensure proper staffing of events with facilitators, speakers, and volunteers.
- Coordinate logistics, create event timelines, and oversee event execution.
- Working with your manager, manage event budgets, vendor contracts, and expenses.
- Conduct post-event follow-ups, evaluations, and reporting.
Train-the-Trainer Initiatives
- Research opportunities to train educators, youth workers, and mental health professionals in menstrual health education.
- Work with the Education Manager to develop engagement strategies.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions and track participation impact.
Volunteer & Facilitator Coordination
- Recruit, train, and schedule facilitators and volunteers for events.
- Provide event briefings and resources for facilitators.
- Act as a main point of contact for volunteers and event staff.
Community & Educational Event Participation
- Represent TPP at community and educational events.
- Engage with attendees, promote menstrual equity, and distribute educational materials.
- Assist with on-site event execution, setup, and logistics.
Educational Outreach & Booking System Management
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase educational bookings.
- Coordinate event schedules with schools, community groups, and corporate partners.
- Maintain a database for event requests and follow-ups.
- Implement a booking system to streamline event coordination.
Travel Coordination
- Arrange travel for facilitators, speakers, and volunteers attending events.
- Work with travel agents to ensure smooth transportation and accommodations.
Volunteer Support & Communication
- Maintain communication with volunteers involved in event planning.
- Provide resources, training, and ongoing support.
- Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in event planning, community outreach, or nonprofit operations (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Airtable, and event management tools (preferred).

- Willingness to travel occasionally for events.
