Reporting to the Manager, Development – Metro, the Event and Fundraising Officer is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of key fundraising events in the Greater Toronto Area. With a special emphasis on donor engagement, sponsorship development, and event logistics, this role plays a vital part in supporting Easter Seals Ontario’s mission to enhance the quality of life and expand opportunities for children and youth with physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and evaluate all aspects of assigned events, including timelines, budgets, critical paths, logistics, and on-site execution.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with sponsors, donors, vendors, volunteers, and event partners.
  • Lead sponsorship outreach, ensuring activation deliverables and recognition commitments are fulfilled.
  • Identify opportunities to grow financial support for Easter Seals Ontario programs.
  • Coordinate vendor negotiations to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with event goals.
  • Track financial performance and prepare revenue and expense reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support event committees by preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and coordinating follow-ups.
  • Develop written event collateral including sponsorship proposals, donor communications, invitations, and stewardship reports.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to promote events through media outreach, social media, and print materials.
  • Represent Easter Seals Ontario at public speaking engagements, donor meetings, and community events.
  • Leverage donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) to manage supporter pipelines, track performance, and guide engagement strategies.
  • Report on key performance indicators such as donor retention, event ROI, sponsor acquisition, and volunteer engagement.
  • Support grant writing and reporting for event-related funding opportunities.
  • Incorporate sustainability and innovation in event planning, including exploring hybrid formats and low-waste practices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment between event goals and organizational strategy.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • University degree or college diploma in fundraising, special events, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, event planning, and community engagement.
  • Experience in the non-profit or charitable sector is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with the GTA philanthropic community is considered an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with donor CRM systems (preferably Raiser’s Edge).
  • Ability to manage and report on event budgets and KPIs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work model with a minimum of 2–3 days per week at the Provincial Office.
  • Some evening and weekend work required, based on event schedules.
  • A successful Police Background Check is required as a condition of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
