The Institute for Change Leaders (ICL) is seeking a Director of Programs to lead, innovate, and expand our transformative programming.

ICL equips people and organizations with proven, innovative leadership, story-telling, and concrete organizing skills needed to win transformative, sustainable, progressive change, using the model of legendary organizer Marshall Ganz. ICL’s programs work with people, organizations, and communities to transform their passion into action.

ICL is seeking a full-time Director of Programs to coordinate and assist in the delivery of ICL’s education programs, both in-person and online, in collaboration with ICL’s Facilitators, partner organizations, participants, and communities.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Programs oversees the design, delivery, and evaluation of ICL’s training programs. This role ensuries that ICL programs are accessible, delivered, impactful, and aligned with the organization’s values, vision, and mission.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Programs:

  • identifies opportunities, in collaboration with the Executive Director, for delivery of ICL programs;
  • builds and fosters strategic partnerships with new and existing organizations, stakeholders, and communities;
  • responds to requests for ICL education programs;
  • ensures delivery of ICL’s education programs, sessions, and workshops:
    • booking, scheduling, invitations, participant registration, negotiating agreements, payment, and related activities with individuals and program partners;
    • selecting and assigning roles and responsibilities for each session to appropriate ICL instructors and facilitators;
    • coordinating instructors and facilitators to deliver ICL programming;
    • supporting ICL’s instructors, facilitators, and program participants with agendas, course resources, event set-up, pre-and post-event debriefs and evaluations etc.; and
    • attending and managing delivery of all in-person and online education session logistics in real-time, including determining location, venue, refreshments, IT/AV, with support from the ICL team;
  • collaborates on communications of ICL’s programs and events with ICL’s Communications Officer;
  • manages a team of placement students and Career Boost students in consultation with the Executive Director;
  • ensures, with the Executive Director, curriculum is accurate, current, updated, and of the highest quality for impact in a variety of contexts;
  • conducts work using a team-based, shared-leadership, collaborative, communicative, and adaptive approach;
  • oversees program evaluation;
  • assists the Executive Director as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • post-secondary diploma or degree and/or equivalent life/organizing experience related to the position;
  • a proven track record  in organizing, delivering programs, and program leadership;
  • demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously, with a growth mindset; 
  • an excellent sense of self-direction, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail, and a clear, courteous, and professional manner when dealing with the public;
  • strong analytical ability and ability to use GSuite, Zoom, Slack, Quickbooks, Canva, etc.;
  • experience using Nation Builder platform, an asset; and
  • knowledge of, and experience with, the Ganz model of leadership, organizing, and change preferred.

Salary: $65,000-$72,00
This position includes benefits, sector-comparable vacation, and the flexibility of hybrid in-person/virtual work.
