Job Summary
For over 15 years, The Access Point has delivered centralized access services to approximately 6,000 new clients each year seeking community mental health services and mental health and addictions supportive housing. LOFT and 45 + organizations are working hard to deliver this high quality, evidence-based, equitable mental health and addictions care access in Toronto. The service is delivered by a network of partners. These organizations accept referrals and work together to improve access to care.

LOFT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to join our team and work with our health partners to transform the way people access mental health and addiction services in Toronto.
Reporting to the VP of Client Care and Experience, the Director will provide leadership and oversight to the strategic direction, support stakeholder engagement and collaboration with our coordinated access planning. They will support the execution of key quality improvement initiatives of The Access Point service.
What You Will Do
- Supported by Ontario Health Toronto, participate with health partners to examine and implement opportunities to improve coordinated access to mental health and addiction services in Toronto;
- Provides leadership and direction to the day-to-day delivery of service at The Access Point;
- Oversees relationships with partner agencies;
- Establishing alternative access points within new partners programs;
- Building and supporting a cross-agency team approach to coordinated access system program delivery;
- Coordinate partners meetings, set agendas and ensure follow-up ;
- Establishing system monitoring and reporting processes for both the access network and the Partners;
- Maintains confidentiality and release of information in accordance with LOFT standards. Ensures all decisions and actions taken are in strict accordance with current legislation and regulations including LOFT policies and procedures;
- Ensuring all technology and privacy requirements for The Access Point are met;
- Developing and implement current and innovative quality assurance tools, data collection approaches, and tracking methods that will ensure evaluation and monitoring of the services being provided by the Access Point;
- Working closely with database partners and leads to ensure any enhancements to technology/systems are completed;
- Collecting, analysing and providing key statistical data and reports;
- Establishing and maintaining links with other access systems across health and between sectors;
- Managing the Access Point budget;
- Managing communications/public relations;
- Being a system advocate;
- Representing The Access Point on relevant collaborative planning and service groups;
- The successful candidate will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements;
What You Bring
Must Haves
- Experience leading large change initiatives across sectors
- The successful candidate will have a leadership experience in a related field (e.g. healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or mental health services), and 5+ years of progressive management experience, including experience and expertise leading teams and large complex projects with significant impact and scope are required
- The successful candidate should have at least five years of progressive leadership experience in the field of mental health and addiction
- History of building collaborative partnerships and commitment to working at a systems level to improve services across sectors
- Understanding of technical solutions to systems coordination
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of the complexities involved in working within publicly funded organizations
- Demonstrated understanding of culturally competent practices and the capacity to work with diverse communities
- Skilled in the areas of strategic and operational planning and the development and management of programs and budgets, including change management
- Knowledge of organizational development and planning and in the creation of policies and procedures
- Good overall appreciation of accounting practices and total compensation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability in influencing, communicating, consensus building, team and individual development, conflict resolution and the ability to inspire credibility, confidence and trust
- Maintains professional conduct, confidentiality and ethical standards
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively at an individual, program and systems level
- Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in problem-solving
- Demonstrated commitment to a person-centred, choice-supporting, and equity-focused framework
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications as required
Nice-to-Haves
- First Aid, CPR, ASSIST and/other suicide prevention training is an asset
- Reflective of a multi-barriered group, as serviced by the program, a strong asset
