Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategic Partnerships & Grants, the Development Officer, Corporate Partnerships & Donations at LOFT Community Services focus on corporate revenue generation, supporting the development and execution of business development, donor cultivation, and stewardship strategies, creating proposals for corporate donors and partners, and conducting research, identifying and prospecting potential corporate partners.
The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver who is passionate about building new funding streams and strengthening corporate partnerships through events and employee engagement opportunities.
LOFT's Development team is responsible for securing the financial resources and capital to support the organization’s Vision and Mission. Through fundraising campaigns, grant writing, donor relations, major gift cultivation, marketing communications, and event planning, the team builds and nurtures relationships with donors, foundations, and businesses to generate funds that enable the organization to operate and provide initiatives that support the needs of our most vulnerable citizens. The department works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Fundraising Committee to communicate the organization's goals and impact and encourage growth and success.
What You Will Do
- Research & Prospect Development:
- Conduct research to identify new corporate donors and partners that align with LOFT’s mission, values, and funding priorities.
- Develop and maintain a robust database of corporate prospects, tracking key information to support targeted outreach efforts.
- Business Development and Revenue Generation:
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships & Grants to craft compelling donation and partnership proposals tailored to corporate prospects.
- Manage a pipeline of corporate partnership prospects, supporting the cultivation of relationships from initial contact to securing partnerships.
- Assist in developing customized partnership opportunities that align with the needs and interests of corporate partners.
- Manage a portfolio of existing and new corporate donors to renew support and generate new revenue. Focusing on donation and partnerships generating a minimum of $10,000 each.
- Donor Stewardship:
- Support developing and implementing stewardship strategies to ensure long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with corporate partners.
- Track and manage deliverables for corporate donors and partners, ensuring commitments are met, and relationships are nurtured.
- Work with internal teams to ensure proper recognition and fulfillment of donation and partnership benefits and recognition.
- Event Planning & Employee Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and execute corporate events, including donor recognition events, community engagement activities, and networking opportunities.
- Develop and manage employee engagement programs that enhance corporate partner involvement, such as volunteer opportunities, matching gift programs, and team-building initiatives.
- Provide support for recruitment and training of volunteers.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop engaging content that promotes the value of corporate partnerships to potential and existing partners.
- Support the Grants and Strategic Partnerships Lead in reporting to stakeholders on partnership outcomes, financial impact, and engagement metrics.
Must Haves
- Post-secondary education in development, marketing, communications, or equivalent professional and lived experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or business development
- Commitment to LOFT’s mission of serving people with complex health challenges, addictions, and poverty.
- Highly motivated, passionate about nonprofit fundraising and committed to supporting mission-driven work.
- Understanding of cultural competency and anti-oppression framework
- Proven experience with anti-racist and DEI practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on achieving results.
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in work.

- Strong research and prospecting skills, with the ability to synthesize information and prioritize opportunities.
- Experience using relevant technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM Databases (such as Raiser’s Edge)
- Working towards a Certificate in Fundraising or other relevant training from a recognized institution.
- Event planning experience, particularly in corporate engagement or donor cultivation
- This role operates within a hybrid model.
- The position involves walking and sitting for extended periods, using office equipment and computers, and occasionally lifting and moving up to 25 pounds. The ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in various meeting configurations is also required.
