Data and Impact Specialist - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto

Position Title: Data and Impact Specialist

Reports to: Manager, Evidence, Learning and Impact

Position Summary:

The Data and Impact Specialist works alongside the Manager, Evidence, Learning and Impact to focus on Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto (BBBST)’s data analysis and reporting of the evidence and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting quantitative and qualitative data from BBBST’s database or from BBBST various stakeholders (i.e. parents, children, volunteers, etc.)

  • Cleaning up BBBST’s database system on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of the data and reports.

  • Analyzing the collected data and reporting the findings internally and externally in various formats (i.e. summaries, charts, graphs, etc.)

  • Gathering relevant data and current trends from across the city, province, and country to stay updated on topics concerning mentorship and other issues within the government and non-profit sector.

  • Providing the Marketing and Communications, and Fundraising departments with all the required information and data

  • Supporting with improving system processes by using technology to enhance the stakeholder experience throughout the mentoring journey.

  • Coordinating the stakeholder experience programs (i.e. Alumni engagement, parent & guardian engagement, etc.)

  • Gathering feedback on the services provided by the agency to the various stakeholders to ensure the adherence of BBBS National Standards for quality and assurance.

  • Collaborating in special research projects internally and externally as needed by the agency.

  • Staying up to date on and abiding by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s National Standards

  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and adhere to the privacy requirements as set out in the Policies at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto

Job Qualifications & Skills:

  • University degree is required.

  • Experience within social work and data analytics is highly preferred.

  • 2+ years of data analysis and reporting experience in a non-profit sector.

  • Previous experience and strong knowledge using database management technologies/tools and extracting information from CRM/databases (i.e. creating dashboards, pulling reports, etc.).

  • Proficient in making connections between findings, impacts and trends.

  • Expert in using Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the various communities within the city of Toronto.

  • Successful vulnerable sector police clearance
