Location: Hybrid (in-person at our offices 3-4 days/week in North York & 1-2 days remotely) 

Salary Range: $50-52K

Since 2009, we have helped over 20,000 women in the GTA transition from unemployment to economic independence. We work together with agency partners, corporate sponsors, individual donors, and dedicated volunteers to create a real impact in women’s lives.

Position Overview 

The Corporate Engagement Lead plays a vital role in fostering relationships and interactions between DFS Toronto and its corporate supporters. The successful candidate will thrive on building connections, providing education around the needs of our clients, and strengthening mutually beneficial relationships to achieve meaningful impact and outcomes. In this unique role you will make a tangible difference in the lives of women by promoting our vision of economic independence through strategic stakeholder engagement and fundraising initiatives. 

DFS Toronto hosts a series of Employee Engagement Opportunities for the corporate market (Volunteer Experiences, Clothing Drives, 3rd Party Events, and Lunch & Learns), with two main purposes: 

  • Engage donors, sponsors and partners in understanding the impact of our work; 
  • Generate unrestricted revenue to support DFS Toronto’s client-serving career development programs. 

Reporting directly to the President you will oversee the stages of these Employee Engagement Opportunities including sales calls/pitches, booking corporate groups, providing content for social media follow-up posts, and managing administration and invoicing.   

Responsibilities  

Relationship Building (65%) 

  • Work with Leadership Team to develop an implementation plan for 2025/26 that includes timelines, engagement goals, and required staff/volunteer support  
  • Act as a trusted and reliable main point of contact and lead the coordination of all Employee Engagement opportunities  
  • Foster and maintain existing corporate relationships for potential re-engagement touch points 
  • Conduct research to identify new corporate connections and recommend companies, organizations, or networks to grow a wish list 
  • Identify opportunities for Leadership Team to deepen engagement and involvement, such as multi-year partnerships, event sponsorships, or advisory roles 
  • Respond to, prioritize, and coordinate effective 3rd party events and collaborate with the Marketing/Communications team to maintain a ready supply of assets and materials 
  • In collaboration with the DFS Toronto Marketing/Communications team, this role will also provide logistics support to other DFS Toronto fundraising events. 

Administration & Data Management (20%) 

  • Streamline process to track corporate supporters using donor management software (Keela) to manage engagement pipeline, log sales activity, and store contact data and insights.  
  • Track and analyze Employee Engagement metrics to assess the success of initiatives and recommend improvements. 
  • Support a wide range of one-time or seasonal projects, and other administrative duties as assigned. 
  • Responsible for issuing invoices, following up on payment, thank you letters and letters of acknowledgement. 

Communications (15%) 

  • Effectively communicate the organization’s mission and achievements to prospective partners. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Communications team to: 
    • Gather success stories, testimonials, and quantitative data showcasing the tangible outcomes and impact of corporate engagement 
    • Support the facilitation of donor communication, including personalized acknowledgment letters, organizational updates, and invitations to events 
    • Provide input on and content for newsletters, impact and annual reports 
  • Build cross-collaborative relationships with all DFS Toronto staff to identify and leverage relationships that support our collective fundraising goals.  

Education, Skills and Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales/business, community development, fundraising, event planning or a related/combined field, preferably in the non-profit sector. 
  • Experience in sales or the private sector is an asset. 
  • Passionate about the mission of DFS Toronto and promoting women's economic independence. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Comfort with customer service best practices and public speaking. 
  • Effective project and time management, process-oriented thinking, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting all required deadlines. 
  • Strong sense of initiative, self-motivation, and proactive decision making. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn new systems 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, or related field preferred. 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, with advanced notice.
