Jun 15, 2025
Vancouver, British Columbia
Coordinator, Youth Policy Program
Full-Time, 2-Year Contract
Hybrid; Located in Lower Mainland
Expected Start Date: Immediately or 2-3 weeks after offer has been accepted.

Vancouver Foundation acknowledges that we carry out our work on the lands of Indigenous nations throughout colonial British Columbia. Our office is located on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Swx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.

Accessibility
Vancouver Foundation’s office is located on the second and third floors of a building with an elevator for access to the office, and an accessible, single-stall, gender-neutral washroom that includes a shower. Vancouver Foundation has a hybrid working model, with both work from home and in-office options available to staff. These options are position dependent.

We are committed to the principles and practices of an inclusive and equitable employment process. Our goal is to be representative of the communities we work with, and we encourage applicants from communities which are structurally marginalized based on refugee claimant status, race, colour, religion, nationality, social or ethnic origin, sex, age, disability, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression. We consider qualified candidates regardless of criminal convictions and those who have employment gaps or employment in historically stigmatized industries. We welcome applicants from all communities.

About Us
Vancouver Foundation is a community foundation that serves Vancouver and all of BC. We bring together the generosity of donors with the ideas and energy of people and communities across the province. Every year we fund a diverse mix of grants, both large and small, that help to build healthy, vibrant, equitable, and inclusive communities. Considered a leader in responsive grantmaking and systems change, Vancouver Foundation is the most significant funder of charities in BC outside of government.

As a community foundation, we’re committed to ensuring everyone has a place in our mission. We are on a journey to actively align all aspects of our work — both internally and externally — to our commitment to equity, inclusion, and a more just society.

About You
You care about justice and fairness. You understand that public systems, policies, and funding can either support or harm communities. You want to help racialized youth build confidence, step into their power, and create change. You are aware of how racism, colonization, and power show up in both community and workplace settings, and you bring that awareness into your work.

You like to keep things running smoothly. You are organized, calm under pressure, and like having a plan—but you're also flexible when things change. You take pride in doing your work carefully and well. Whether you're booking travel, planning events, tracking applications, or responding to last-minute needs, you make sure nothing gets missed.

You build strong relationships. You know that people joining programs may be going through more than just the program itself. You treat every interaction as a chance to build trust and comfort. You’re respectful, warm, and able to listen without judgment while still keeping the work on track.

You’re confident with technology. You learn new tools quickly and know how to keep information safe and organized. You pay attention to small details, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate clearly.

You’re ready to grow. You bring curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to learn. You want to join a team that values honesty, care, and a deep commitment to justice. You’re ready to join us as we explore and shape how Vancouver Foundation might do even more to align justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion with our culture and our mission.
