Coordinator of Drop-in Services - North York Women's Centre (NYWC)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Drop-in Services has primary responsibility for NYWC’s drop-in portfolio, which includes but is not limited to information and referral services, system navigation supports, adult education workshops, and social-recreational activities. The Coordinator of Drop-in Services leads all aspects of drop-in service delivery and has primary accountability for execution, team leadership, evaluation and reporting, and development of new initiatives that respond to unmet community needs. The Coordinator of Drop-in Services leads a team of staff, placement students, interns and volunteers in delivering effective and efficient services using a hybrid model of virtual and in-person service delivery. Given the nature of the role, some evening work is required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Program Coordination and Oversight (40%)
  • Coordinate all aspects of the drop-in services portfolio including successful development and implementation of annual program plans; supervision of program staff, students and volunteers; financial monitoring; and ongoing program monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Oversee the work of placement students, interns, temporary staff and volunteers and provide leadership with a goal to creating cohesive, motivated teams that consistently deliver quality results.
  • Work closely with the Coordinator of Group Programs to create a compliment of programs and services that respond to community needs and align with organizational priorities and expectations.
  • Regularly review and ensure compliance with organization and program-related policies, protocols and standards, and make recommendations for changes where warranted.
  • Maintain a database that supports compliance with organizational reporting requirements, monitor program activities and generate reports on program activities and results as required.
  • Monitor program impact and outcome data with a goal to supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify emerging needs and trends and work with the staff team to develop new initiatives and secure funding that supports program growth and diversification.
Program Support and Delivery (40%)
  • Support the delivery of information and referral, system navigation supports, adult education workshops and social-recreational activities in adherence with program goals and objectives.
  • Support initiatives that reduce barriers to access and active participation in drop-in services.
  • Coordinate and administer wraparound supports: transportation, childminding, tablets/data, etc.
  • Immediately report concerns when there is a risk of imminent harm and/or duty to report.
  • Coordinate and execute program evaluation activities, including debriefing and feedback meetings.
  • Encourage and support participants to complete pre/post-program, feedback and other surveys.
  • Collect and document success stories, share best practices and promote program success.
  • Proactively conduct outreach and actively support other organization outreach activities.
  • Enter program data accurately, completely and in a timely manner and maintain effective records.
Partnerships and Community Engagement (20%)
  • Establish partnerships to enhance NYWC’s ability to meet current and emerging community needs.
  • Represent NYWC on external networks and groups where participation supports program objectives.
  • Serve as an ambassador for NYWC and its programs, promoting program awareness and participation.
  • Encourage participant and team engagement in broader organizational activities.
  • Encourage participants to become corporate members while assuring them that it is not a requirement for receiving services.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Experience in program coordination/administration in a not-for-profit environment
  • Relevant post-secondary education in humanities, social work, social services, life skills or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of service provider community and ability to support effective system navigation
  • Ability to work independently and to assume supervisory responsibilities as needed
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative program data and apply it to improve results
  • Ability to identify and successfully respond to opportunities for new, innovative programming
  • Resourceful problem-solver; demonstrated ability to proactively identify and implement solutions
  • Team player with a proven track record in building strong, positive professional relationships
  • Integrity, sound judgment, tact, discretion and a healthy sense of humour
  • Sound knowledge of women’s issues and ability to work within a feminist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed environment
  • Good working knowledge of computer programs and systems (Microsoft Office, E-mail, Internet)
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE
  • Starting salary of $60,000 annually
  • 35-hour work week with full pay
  • Ten paid personal/sick days annually
