Coordinator, Events and Stakeholders - The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships

The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) is inviting applications for the position of Coordinator, Events and Stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will have strong understanding of event development and coordination and strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships.

We are seeking a great organizer, looking to work collaboratively with a small and growing team.

Reporting to the Director, Sponsorship and Member Services , the Coordinator will ensure alignment of events in support of the Council’s objectives including, providing event planning advice and liaising with suppliers, sponsors, event participants and external partners.

As a member of the Council team, the Coordinator will support the sponsorship and membership efforts by ensuring accurate and timely reporting and administrative support.

Established in 1993, CCPPP is a national not-for-profit non-partisan, member-based organization with broad and unique representation from across the public and private sectors. Our members represent the leading construction, engineering, legal, and advisory firms; banks and financiers; and operators and facilities maintenance firms working hard to build Canada’s much needed public infrastructure as well as the public sector owners.

The Council’s vision is to shape the future of Canada’s infrastructure and services by delivering value to Canadians through Public-Private Partnerships (P3s).

The Council does this through:

  • Convening both public and private market participants to discuss leading practices and harness lessons learned and adapting the model as needed;
  • Advocating for the use of public-private partnership models, where appropriate to build a sustained pipeline of projects across the country; and
  • Conducting research to support evidence-based decision making and demonstrate the benefits of the model.
ABOUT THE JOB

Reporting to the Director, Sponsorship and Member Services, the Coordinator will be responsible for supporting a range of initiatives to support our events, sponsorship and membership activities.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Support the Director in the development of relationships with Council members.
  • Support the organization of Council events and advocacy days with members and sponsors in close collaboration with Council executives by:
    • Creating and maintaining events plans;
    • Liaising with catering and suppliers;
    • Ensuring the preparation of materials;
    • Coordinating menus, floor plans, registration lists in collaboration with Council staff;
    • Supporting the coordination and execution of virtual events, including operation of the Council’s virtual event platform;
    • General administrative duties; and
    • Preparing reports.
  • Support the organization of the annual conference held in Toronto every Fall.
  • Update the Council’s Engagement Management System (iMIS) and ensure it is kept up-to-date.
  • Support the sales and sponsorships for the annual conference, Council events and other business lines.
  • Support the execution sponsorship agreements and accounts receivable.
This is a full-time, permanent position working remotely in Toronto with the occasional need for in-person meetings and flexibility for evening meetings or events as needed.

Relevant Skills:
  • Possess experience and knowledge in event development and coordination.
  • Possess:
    • superior organizational, time management and project coordination skills and attention to  detail;
    • exceptional interpersonal skills and the knowledge of how to use them to build and maintain effective relationships and to work successfully within a dynamic team;
    • the ability to work well under pressure including prioritizing workload, working within tight and competing deadlines;
    • the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of clients; and
    • strong desire to achieve results and goals.
  • Has the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also be able to work as a team member.
  • Is proficient in English.
  • Has superior computer skills including expertise in the use of MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
    • Knowledge of CrowdCast is an asset.
