Ontario Community Support Association is the voice of the home and community care sector. Our small team is passionate about the challenging, stimulating, and hugely rewarding work we do for our 220+ members who provide health and wellness services to help Ontarians live independently at home for as long as possible.

Position Overview

OCSA is seeking a passionate and experienced Business Developer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, direct sales, sponsorship, and partnership building. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of our organization while making a meaningful impact in the community. The role offers a base salary and a very competitive compensation structure in addition to employer-paid health benefits and an RRSP matching program. 
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and relationships with corporations, foundations, and other organizations to support fundraising and programmatic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to increase revenue streams and grow the organization's sponsorships, support the membership and training division sales, and strengthen existing partnership relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Work closely with OCSA managers and directors to strategize plans and identify potential partners.
  • Maintain leads and opportunities within the CRM.
  • Participate and attend sector events to represent and promote OCSA.
  • Establish and maintain a portfolio of sponsors, new members, prospective clients, tradeshow vendors, and partners from identification, to lead through opportunity and completion of the sales steps.
  • Stay informed of sector trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in non-profit management to enhance the association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Business Development Role.
  • Experience or familiarity with the not-for-profit sector is an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate an organization’s mission and impact to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  • Ability to leverage relationships and negotiate agreements.
  • Strong organizational, project, and time-management skills, ability to produce sales within tight deadlines, multitask, and prioritize workload.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple solutions to drive business growth.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and with the flexibility to respond to rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities for revenue generation and partnership development.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and Microsoft Dynamix CRM including Customer Insights
  • Willingness to travel within Ontario if needed. Approximately 0-5% of the time role.
