People Minded Business (PMB) is the creator of WITHology, the art and science of inclusive consultation, collaboration, and co-creation. PMB work involves boards, leadership teams, employees, partners, and people who use their services - people with disabilities, mental illness, seniors, and others.  We work with clients on strategic planning, partnerships and mergers, service and organizational re-design and facilitating important discussions all using co-design approaches. PMB is growing and looking to hire a full-time motivated, detail-oriented, creative, analytical, flexible, and engaged individual. The Business Analyst Consultant wears many hats from planning and managing projects, conducting business and costing analysis, facilitating focus groups and interviews and crafting project deliverables. You will work closely with everyone on PMB’s team and do plenty of work independently.

Responsibilities

Your day may include:

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support decision-making processes and provide actionable insights to clients.

  • Cost Analysis: Conducting operations and administrative cost analysis to determine unit costs (activity-based costing), evaluating financial impacts and providing recommendations for cost-saving initiatives and budget optimization.

  • Process Improvement: Identifying areas for process optimization and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Client and Constituent Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, team members, and other constituents to ensure project alignment and success. You should be comfortable with presenting options and recommendations to client teams, leadership, and third parties.

  • Project Management Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope. NOTE: You must be comfortable managing upwards to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Documentation Creation: Create detailed documentation, including financial analysis, process flows, presentations, and reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

  • Meeting and Workshop Management: For groups of all sizes, in person and using platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, collaboration tools, research tools (e.g. Sli.do and Survey Monkey), and PowerPoint.

  • Detailed oriented. You will often be the first and last line of defence between a client and a spelling mistake or typo. This skill will be very important to your success with this role.

Sometimes you’ll have to work nights or maybe a few hours on the weekend, but you understand they’ll be flexible time off later and you’ll integrate things seamlessly to live a good life.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline (e.g. economics, public administration, IT, etc.)

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a business analyst or doing related work.

  • Experience or a strong interest in working with non-profit organizations is preferred and familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities within the non-profit sector is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with business analysis tools and methodologies. Experience with data analysis software (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI) is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to various constituents; fluency in French language considered an asset.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

  • Some of our clients may require you to complete a criminal record check.

Job Location/Travel

PMB employees work remotely from home offices across Ontario and meet with one or more teammates virtually most days, and in-person for some aspects of projects, Team Days, and at conferences a few times yearly.  You will be expected to travel with some frequency to clients alone or with team members, depending on the project. If you cannot travel freely, please do not apply for this position.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits are provided to full-time employees post an evaluation period.
