The role of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto is to offer support, information, and education to people with dementia, their families, and their caregivers, to increase public awareness of dementia, to promote research, and to advocate for services that respect the dignity of the individual.
The Associate Director of Fund Development will play a key role in driving the fundraising efforts of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. Working collaboratively within a dynamic team, this position is responsible for managing and advancing various fundraising programs, with a focus on annual individual giving and sponsorship, to support the organization’s mission.
What You’ll Be Doing:
The primary accountability of the role is Annual Giving: The role will be expected to lead, manage and grow general annual giving programs, up to and including intermediate gifts (<$5K), monthly giving program, corporate giving partnerships and government grants and charitable funding.
As part of this responsibility, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and execute strategies to increase the number of donors and donor retention.
- Develop and support the preparation of compelling communications, reports, and proposals to support fundraising efforts
- Cultivate relationships with donors, corporate partners, and government agencies
- Analyze and manage campaign data to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.
- Maintain updated donor information and moves management in Raisers Edge CRM on a regular basis
- Collaborate with the fundraising team and the Development Manager to plan, implement, and oversee successful fundraising initiatives.
- Supervise the Development Manager role while setting clear goals from the fundraising plan
- Work within the complexities of a federated funding model to coordinate, comply, and optimize resource distribution
This is a hybrid role which requires a minimum of (2) days in the office per week.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, business management, communications or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience.
- Advanced certifications or training in fundraising, philanthropy, or nonprofit management (e.g., CFRE certification) are a plus.
- Proven success in managing annual campaigns and achieving fundraising targets.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising databases
- Demonstrated initiative and results-driven mindset.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data management systems; proficiency with Raisers’ Edge preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently as needed.
- Excellent time management skills
