Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000/year (July and August off)

The Aquatics and Athletics Co-ordinator is responsible for supervising and coordinating the BSS swim programs and supporting the Athletic Director and Junior School Athletic Director with assigned administrative responsibilities. Under the direction of the Vice Principal, Junior School and the JS Physical Education team, the Co-ordinator will provide curricular swim instruction and supervision for Grades JK - 6 in the pool. This role will support the teachers in their planning and provide feedback on each student's progress. In addition to supporting JS aquatics programming, the coordinator will also support coaching responsibilities for whole school swim teams. The Co-ordinator will also assist the Athletics Directors in administrative support, leadership and coordination among the competitive and instructional athletics program to provide student athletes with a positive, well-organized and inclusive athletics experience.

Who You Are

  • Experience as an Instructor in an educational, public recreation or camp setting is ideal
  • Current NLS, Red Cross/LSS Instructors, First Aid and CPR certificates are required
  • Understanding of and proven track record operating a safe pool environment
  • Experience working and leading children in aquatics
  • Administrative experience, preferably working in an educational setting
  • Strong technology skills, specifically knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • General pool maintenance knowledge
  • Culturally competent with a positive attitude toward cultural uniqueness and a readiness to accept and respect others
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • A growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning

Working Conditions

  • Move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
  • Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces.
