THE OPPORTUNITY

Tree Canada is recruiting an Annual Giving Coordinator. The Annual Giving Coordinator will be responsible for nurturing donor relationships and the planning and implementation of strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors in support of Tree Canada. The incumbent will report to and work with the Head of Individual Giving to guide a direct mail and digital solicitation strategy and manage annual giving to the organization.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Collaborate with the Head of Individual Giving, and draw from Tree Canada’s Strategic Plan, to develop annual work plans and priorities that nurture growth in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and enhance the donor experience.
  • Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail, lead generation, acquisition, and digital campaigns.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with individual donors and community stakeholders. Respond to donor enquiries in a timely, respectful, and thorough manner.
  • Liaise with Tree Canada’s Communications team to develop regular impact communications to ensure that Tree Canada remains an accountable partner to its base of supporters.
  • Work closely with external agencies in the planning and execution of digital and direct mail campaigns, as well as donor stewardship communications.
  • Work with colleagues in Corporate Development to facilitate effective employee engagement campaigns.
  • In consultation with the Chief Development Officer, Head of Individual Giving, and Donor Relations and Database Officer, conduct data analysis to inform annual performance and revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Relations and Database Officer on regular reporting processes and benchmarking to measure the results of annual giving activities.
  • Regularly conduct donor moves management reviews with the Head of Individual Giving to ensure the effective identification and engagement of qualified leadership, major, and legacy philanthropists.
  • Ensure accurate and timely action entry into the donor database.
  • The incumbent might occasionally be called upon to attend and assist in the coordination of special events or donor gatherings.
ABOUT YOU
  • Post-secondary education and at least three years of experience working in a non-profit environment.
  • A minimum of three years of experience coordinating annual giving activities, with demonstrable skills in direct mail and digital campaign management.
  • A strong rapport with donors and other stakeholders, and the ability to research and create key messages in response to donor enquiries.
  • An understanding of annual giving benchmarking, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity working with a donor database/CRM, with preference for experience in Salesforce and/or Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English is a must, with the ability to communicate effectively in French being a strong asset to the role.
  • Must possess exemplary organizational skills and a willingness to work in a fast-paced and multi-priority environment.
  • You have a passion for the environment and the work of Tree Canada.
  • You have high ethical standards and ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Demonstrated tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
