Position: Accounting Coordinator
Location: 1 Jim Flaherty St., Whitby, ONAssignment: Full-time, Salaried

The Position:
Reporting to the Interim VP, Finance and the Manager, Finance, the Accounting Coordinator will provide day-to-day administrative support in the operations of the Finance department.What You’ll Do:
- Daily Operations.
- You will process invoices and accounts payable by coding, inputting, and calculating ITC/rebate, and uploading to the accounting system.
- You will process payments by cheques and EFT, and file completed documents. You will maintain the petty cash.
- You will process bank deposits and prepare reconciliations of bank accounts.
- You will monitor the corporate credit card, ensuring appropriate documentation has been completed and filed.
- You will download and process journals from ActiveNet and other systems in use and will reconcile entries to the general ledger.
- You will prepare various financial reports and statements.
- Support.
- You will assist the Finance Manager on accounting matters as required.
- You will respond to and assist with staff inquires.
- You will cultivate a genuine, person-centred environment through exceptional customer service.

What You’ll Bring:
- Education and Experience.
- You have post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- You have 2+ years of experience working in finance or accounting.
- You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Teams; knowledge of NetSuite, ActiveNet, or similar systems an asset.
- Communication and Collaboration.
- You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- You can make connections with peers, leaders, and stakeholders, and can work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- You are an effective team player with a positive attitude whose interactions demonstrate accountability, authenticity, and collaboration.
- You have exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Organization.
- You have superior administrative skills demonstrating thoroughness and attention to detail.
- You can manage multiple demands and tight timelines through effective planning, organizing and time management skills, and can work independently without close supervision.
- You are self-motivated, and results-oriented; you demonstrate initiative and contribute to a work environment that values and encourages innovation.
- Administrative Requirements.
- It is required that you have a current and clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector to work at Abilities Centre.
