Chelsea Newton, Director of Talent Acquisition and Mosaic Sales Solutions, shares her advice on how students should follow up with employers after in-person encounters at tours, info sessions, career fairs, networking events, interviews and more.
Be sure to do research before you meet the person. Check out their LinkedIn or other professional profile before you meet them, and then ask them to elaborate on the basics in the interview. While your interview should be focused on career-related discussion, allowing time to discuss other related interests can help you build a relationship with the interviewee.

Informational interviews with people working in the industry you are interested in are a great way to network with potential employers while gaining valuable information that can help you make important career decisions.
