Louis Grenier’s story is unconventional. He didn’t grow up dreaming about working in the automotive industry. But when the opportunity at Reynolds & Reynolds came along, he went for it and went all in. In the process of continuous learning and development, he also found his true calling.
Louis grew up in a bilingual family in Montreal. This exposure to two languages came in handy when he began his job search and came across Reynolds & Reynolds. He admits that he didn’t know much about the industry before applying, but he took his time to educate himself and find his way in. “I was attracted to a company that was willing to spend that much time and money on their young people,” says Louis referring to the training program that Reynolds & Reynolds offers.
Reynolds & Reynolds’ training process didn’t disappoint – Louis mentions that “the sales team maps out a very rigorous and thought-out training schedule for every new Account Manager.” It involves hands-on work with the software, classroom learning about the industry, and field training.
Day to Day
Today Louis is an Account Manager and his job consists of many client meetings every day. He explores different business situations together with his clients to find the best solution to suit their needs. He enjoys having the independence to come up with custom solutions to serve his clients.
Louis spends 95% of his day-to-day life on the road. “Make sure that you are ok with extensive travel, at least in the first couple of years,” Louis recommends. At the same time, Reynolds & Reynolds does an excellent job making sure that the employees all feel like they belong.
It’s safe to say that Louis found a place where he can grow, develop, make meaningful connections and really thrive. That is because he genuinely enjoys tackling challenges and helping his clients prosper.
