Make A Vision Board To Manifest Change In The New Year Ahead

by

As another year slowly comes to an end and a new one approaches, the “out with the old and in with the new” mantra becomes more popular.

There is something about the beginning of a new year that brings with it new promises, goals, and plenty of opportunities to start fresh in any area of your life. While there may be lots of positive changes you wish to make come January, it’s not always easy to keep them in mind on a day-to-day basis. Many of us get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. We either forget about the changes we planned or push them to the sidelines and tell ourselves that we’ll get to them later.

Constantly keeping your goals for the New Year in the forefront of your mind may be tricky, but there is a fun tool that can help you to maintain your focus and manifest change in the year ahead – a Vision Board.

Tvision-board-520757_1920he idea behind a vision board is the process of visualization – the act of thinking about all your hopes, wishes and desires for the year and continuously reinforcing these thoughts to make them a reality. It is one of the most powerful mind exercises you can do because it coincides with what’s known as the “Law of Attraction.” According to the popular book The Secret, “The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe.”

It is fairly simple to create a vision board of your own and the best thing about putting one together is that you can be as creative as your imagination allows you to be – there is no right or wrong way to make one.

Here are some easy steps to help get you started!

Step 1: Find a canvas, corkboard or thick construction paper to use as your board – this will be the base where you put all your ideas, goals and aspirations. It can be any size you like, but keep in mind that it should be placed in an area that is visible on a day-to-day basis.

Step 2: Take some time to identify the changes that you wish to make and the goals you have. Cut out pictures from magazines, find photos, postcards, quotes and gather anything inspirational that represents the experiences, feelings and things you want to attract in your life in the New Year.

Step 3: Using tape, glue, or any other adhesive, place everything you have gathered onto your board in any way your heart desires. Make sure to leave some blank spaces. This will help so that you clearly see your goals, and also allow you to add or take away things from your board over the course of the year. Leaving a bit of blank space will also prevent you from crowding your vision board, as this can be a representation of “chaos” which you most likely do not want to manifest into your life. If you do desire to make changes in different areas of your life, perhaps it may be a good idea to make one board per area of change to maintain focus and avoid crowding.

Step 4: After you are finished creating your vision board, place it in an area where you will see it every day like in your room, by your bed, or on your desk at home. Placing it in such an area will allow you to look at your board often and continuously visualize, reaffirm, and reinforce the goals you have for yourself for the year ahead. Doing so will help to attract these things into your life and make them a reality.

Remember there is no right or wrong way to make a vision board, so create it in such a way that is most inspiring to you.

Happy Vision Boarding!
