Accounting Certificate in Oil and Gas Production

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) offers an Accounting Certificate in Oil and Gas Production which teaches the basics of petroleum production accounting. It’s an on-campus, full-time, 35-week program, certified by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting. Graduates find work as accountants in the petroleum industry.

Master of Professional Accounting

The Master of Professional Accounting Program (MPAcc) at the University of Saskatchewan’s Edwards School of Business is an innovative graduate degree program that attracts top-notch accounting students from across Canada and internationally. The program provides an alternate route for students who are pursuing a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in Western Canada, as MPAcc students are exempt from the Chartered Accountant School of Business’s (CASB) first five online modules.

Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy

Another route to the CA designation is via McGill University’s Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy. In the fall and winter months of this 16-month program, students typically work part-time, completing the articling period required to meet the requirements of the CA designation. The final summer term features an intensive UFE preparation course.

PhD in Accounting

Someone has to teach Canada’s future accountants. If you just can’t get enough of accounting (and university!), the University of British Columbia’s PhD program in Accounting may be for you! This program has a reputation for producing strong researchers who have pursued academic careers at top universities around the world.
