Senior Manager – Campus Talent Acquisition James Davidson, and Fahad Meer, an Experienced Associate in the firm’s Audit and Assurance practice who graduated from McMaster University last year, share three of the newest ways that PwC is creating opportunities of a lifetime for students across Canada this fall.
Now you can pursue your CA/CPA in PwC’s Tax practice
There are some exciting new opportunities to define your career at PwC! For example, you can now obtain your CA designation while working within the firm’s Tax practice in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver – James says PwC is doubling their CA/CPA student hiring in Tax.
That means even more students can take advantage of the fantastic training program that PwC offers to its CA/CPA students. “The learning culture at PwC is what will really help foster growth and also help you pass the UFE on the first attempt,” Fahad says.
Join PwC in the firm’s new management consulting program
Did you know that you can join PwC even if you don’t have an accounting degree? New grads from all academic backgrounds, including arts and science, now have the opportunity to join the firm and complete a comprehensive two-year management consulting training program with rotational assignments across PwC’s business groups.
“This year we’ve launched a new program, as that allows students to join us straight out of school from their first degree, with a BA or BSc, and train with us to be management consultants,” James says. “It’s a non-CA route, so really for those people focused on becoming consultants.”
New ways to learn about and connect with PwC online
One of the big pushes of PwC’s campus recruitment campaign this year is to provide students with more opportunities to connect and interact with the firm. Now they’re meeting people on mediums such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn before meeting them in real life.
Connecting with students online means that PwC is bringing down the walls between students and recruiters, Fahad says.
If you have a question about PwC, just go to their website and click the “Q&A: Got a question? Ask us on Facebook” box, or go directly to the PwC Careers in Canada Facebook page, and post your question. It’s that easy!
PwC also has a series of bloggers from across the country, including three national bloggers each aligned to one of the firm’s areas of business, who are sharing their experiences and advice with students on PwC’s blog. Fahad represents the Audit and Assurance practice as well as the GTA region. Click here to check out his recent blog posts.
