Is “international travel” an unreasonable requirement for a new grad to have when selecting an employer?
Not if you start your career with EF Education First, a global company that offers a range of educational programs from language training, educational travel, and academic degrees to cultural exchanges.
Most EF employees have the opportunity to travel on educational or training tours once a year, but some travel much more than that.
We asked Nick Boyd and 2 other recent grads working at EF Education First to share their favourite travel experiences and give you a taste of what it’s like to work and travel with EF:

Favourite travel destination:
I travelled to China in August 2011 with fellow EF staff and teachers from all across Canada on one of our International Training Tours. I experienced a totally different and unique culture, and saw sights I would have never even dreamed possible – all because I work at EF.
My most memorable experience from this trip was climbing the Great Wall and watching friends from our group eat things like fried scorpions and snakes.

Favourite travel destination:
I’ll never forget the days I spent in Galway, Ireland. It’s such a quaint and magical place. We spent hours exploring the charming streets, discovering antique book shops, feeding the swans down by the Claddagh pier and listening to the local talent at night. It was cold and damp, but the cheer and warmth of the Irish made it an unforgettable experience.

Next stop:
I’m very excited about my upcoming tour with EF. I’ll be touring 4 of the world’s most famous cities: London, Paris, Florence and Rome. Although I’ve travelled to these destinations in the past, I can’t wait to rediscover these cities with EF while doing new activities, such as the Jack the Ripper Walk in London or the Seine River Cruise in Paris.

Favourite travel destination:

I took an art course in university that focused on Gaudi’s architecture and I have dreamed of going to Barcelona, Spain, to see all of the amazing sights for myself ever since then.
I travelled there in December 2011 with a colleague and a group of about 35 high school students from Texas.
My most memorable experience from this trip was walking through Parc Güell and seeing the famous salamander that I had seen in so many pictures before.
Next stop:
I want to go to the French Riviera, Costa Rica, Italy, Greece, Australia…everywhere!
