Graduate Material Handling Engineer

We are seeking an enthusiastic recent engineering graduate to join our Material Handling team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from mining to marine export terminals, from recycling to advanced manufacturing and from warehousing to logistics. You will work with, and learn from, a large group of highly skilled engineers and subject matter experts. Your work will contribute to the overall success of our client projects by implementing best practices and maintaining a high level of organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.

The Graduate Material Handling Engineer is a full-time position, based in East Vancouver, BC.  

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

The responsibilities of the role cover all aspects of projects from conceptual and feasibility studies through to FEED stages for multiple clients concurrently. These may include:

·         Develop of work plans and budgets

·         Liaise with clients and determine client requirements

·         Provide preliminary / conceptual design through to detailed design for material handling systems  

·         Conduct field work (asset inspection and reviews during construction)

·         Prepare project deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports

·         Support senior staff on larger projects including:

-       Detailed analysis and design of material handling systems and facilities including production facilities, recycling facilities and marine terminals

-       Inter-discipline coordination

-       Assist with project reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Interest in working on large scale industrial projects
• Experience with mechanical analysis software, computer aided design and Microsoft Office is preferred
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
