This position is a temporary co-op placement located primarily in our Edmonton office however options to be placed in Calgary or Cold Lake may be considered.
The placement term will be from May to December 2023 with the potential for a permanent full-time position beginning January 2024.
Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
· Assisting Project Managers in all aspects of project execution. Perform tasks as requested efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques;
· Groundwater and surface water monitoring;
· Potable water sampling;
· Vegetation assessments/surveys;
· On-site safety supervision and associated documentation;
· Tracking and reporting on field activity;
· Coordinating the procurement of project supplies and contractor services;
· Supervision of contractors on site;
· Preparing supporting documentation for reports, data checking & assessments;
· Assisting in drilling, borehole logging and monitoring well installations; and
· Travel as required for various field programs.
Qualifications
· University Degree or Technical Diploma from accredited institution, plus appropriate continuing education;
· Excellent time management skills and attention to detail;
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team setting;
· 0-3 years of practical experience;
· Class 5 driver’s licence;
· Experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset;
· Ability to work challenging and potentially extended hours under varying weather conditions; and,
· Working toward professional registration/certification or recently certified.
