Position Summary...

The Associate Finance Manager (AFM), Merch FP&A will own the planning and forecasting system environment and be accountable for ensuring all planning and forecasting processes are communicated, adhered to, and effectively managed from both a systems and financial reconciliation / reasonability point of view. This role is expected to be an expert in Hyperion/Essbase planning environments and be able to design and implement structural changes to the system in order to unlock time in the forecasting and planning processes. This person will be responsible to maintain strong connections with both the US and UK organizations and their Essbase experts to ensure consistency in approach and technical support where needed. The successful candidate will have a high level of expertise in system environments including Essbase and the data tables that will be loaded. They will understand and be able to both design and manage financial validation checks between systems in a very dynamic way.

What you'll do...

Responsible for database administration (loading data, understanding, enhancing, and executing scripts and macro’s, scenario creation) and ensuring the Merchandise Finance Essbase cube is maintained on a timely basis with accurate monthly results, forecasts, and budgets.

Design and proactively implement enhancements and requested changes into reporting requirements, via creating and/or editing Essbase scripts.

Producing accurate and timely forecast and budget templates to Finance and Business partners for uploading and subsequent reconciliations. Providing clear communication and guidance on any changes to reporting structures and / or forecasting process changes.

Generating timely and accurate month-end reporting (GP and Inventory details), and being the key point of contact for the Corporate Controller through month end process to understand and communicate month end adjustments within the broader finance team. This communication should be clear and understandable for both Finance and Business partners to comprehend.

Identifying opportunities to improve process and systems and implement standardized solutions across Commercial Finance teams (e.g. across supply chain, operations, merchandising finance)

Providing recommendations on areas of workflow inefficiencies with respect to reporting and planning processes and database management.

Being accountable for standard reporting and planning submissions by co-coordinating with Merch Finance team to understand, develop, communicate, and enforcing timelines.

Manage relationship with Walmart International Planning systems teams. Learn and implement and share best practices from International teams.
