Our Team:
The Copper Cliff Mine Supervisory Team is integral to the success of the operation in becoming a safe, predictable, and reliable producer. Come and join us!  

The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an Shift Scheduler to join our Integrated Operations Scheduling (IOS) team at Copper Cliff Mine in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position. 

As a Shift Scheduler, you will be accountable for the continuous improvement of the Integrated Operations Scheduling team’s performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures. You will also be accountable for the scheduling of all planned work for the Copper Cliff Mine operations.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work 5/4 rotation steady dayshift 10.5 hour shift.
  • Be a key member of the Integrated Operations Scheduling team to develop the mine (24hr-1 week) schedule for all operations (including production, development and haulage) utilizing resources.
  • Liaison with the front-line supervisors, operation planners and the mine schedule to priorities and work with all groups to schedule required work.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all required daily planning/scheduling routines. Contribute to and provide priority work by coordinating and scheduling all interactions based on priorities across departments (operations, maintenance, logistics, etc.).
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the “work schedule”.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets. Work with daily tracking of operations work execution and update metrics.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards. 
  • Understand and run Mine RP WorkManager, EPS Explorer & SAP .
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, MTS, maintenance, etc. 

 

About you

 

Education: 

  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a planning, scheduling, or reliability role.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operations is required.
  • Experience working underground is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products is required. 

Skills:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
