Database Administrator

Permanent, Full?time Position

Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation (TGWHF) raises funds for research, education and the enhancement of patient care at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital, their respective research arms, the Krembil Research Institute and Toronto General Hospital Research Institute, and the Michener Institute of Education at UHN. The hospitals and institutes are part of University Health Network (UHN), which also includes Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the Toronto Rehab Institute. UHN is a major landmark in Canada’s healthcare system and a teaching hospital of the University of Toronto. Reporting to the Manager of Records Administration, the Database Administrator will work to maintain the data integrity of Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation databases, primarily Raiser’s Edge, ensuring records are accurate and up to date, while also supporting all database functions for upcoming digital fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Daily administration of the organization’s primary database systems for the creation and updating of constituent, fund, and appeal records in accordance with the Foundation policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data
  • Assist in using import tools for Raiser’s Edge such as Import Omatic to upload/update constituent information received from external sources, identifying and merging duplicate records
  • Participate in the implementation of new digital fundraising platforms and data integration into Raiser’s Edge, and other software upgrade initiatives
  • Prepare data extraction for direct marketing campaigns; liaise with the Community Giving team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
  • Assist in providing basic Raiser’s Edge training for new users, and support to Foundation staff for general reporting and other data requests
  • Assist in providing technical support to Foundation staff for issues concerning hardware (computers/printers) and software applications
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Records Administration

Qualifications

  • Post?secondary degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years Raiser’s Edge database experience
  • Experience with digital fundraising platforms such as Luminate Online, Artez Interactive, or other
  • Working knowledge of Blackbaud integration tools for Raiser’s Edge, such as Import Omatic and PaperSave will considered an asset
  • High proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines, set priorities, and balance the demands of multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrate initiative, think strategically and problem solve
  • Must be change?oriented and possess an attitude of continuous improvement

Direct: Manager of Records Administration

Indirect: Some work direction, training and ad?hoc projects may be assigned by Manager of Gifts Administration and the Director of Gifts & Records Administration
