Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will work in collaboration with the Industrial Hygienist and assist in the execution of the Detour Lake Mine’s Industrial Hygiene Program and provide industrial hygiene services as required in the identification, assessment, and control of exposure risks. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Support Agnico Eagle occupational programs and codes of practice (hygiene, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, GHS (WHMIS), etc.);
- Ensure compliance with the Agnico Eagle annual exposure assessment program;
- Analyze and interpret sets of data using statistical tools and write sampling reports;
- Communicate results of assessments to the organization;
- Perform different kinds of inspections (PPE, Respiratory and Hearing Protection, GHS (WHMIS));
- Monitor exposure to different factors, such as:
- Occupational Exposure Monitoring i.e. sampling for airborne contaminants and physical agents;
- Noise mapping and monitoring;
- Heat Stress.
- Degree, diploma or certificate in a field related to Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or other related science discipline;
- 2-4 years of experience as an Industrial Hygienist / Hygiene Technologist is considered an asset;
- Underground, open pit or processing experience would be considered and asset;
- Ability to communicate in front of a large group of people;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: : 4/3, 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
