You'll work side-by-side with some of the most talented people in the energy industry. And, your work assignments and the mentoring Suncor provides will offer you excellent academic and career growth.
Co-op Students
Suncor's co-op jobs are challenging and a great chance to learn more about your chosen field. Work terms of four, eight, 12 or 16 months build on your classroom studies and create opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. Better yet, many of our co-op students go on to become permanent Suncor employees after they graduate.

Suncor posts job opportunities on our website and at campus career centres; Suncor also participates in campus career fairs or invites students to attend information sessions. Applications are accepted through our website.
Student positions are posted on our website in:
- January for May start dates
- May for September start dates
- September for January start dates
Candidates accepted for an interview will be contacted.
Once you accept an offer, Suncor will work with you to help make the transition. If you need to move to your work location, we'll make it easy by providing assistance with travel and relocation expenses, as well as either referring you to or providing short-term housing options (depending on the location). We'll also connect you with other interns or co-op students who are already working with us.
Compensation & benefits
Co-op students are valuable members of our team, with work responsibilities similar to entry-level professionals and that’s reflected in the compensation. While at work, co-op participants receive competitive pay and may be eligible for some flexible days off.
Summer Students
Suncor’s summer student program provides candidates with the opportunity to gain industry experience working full-time. This program offers students practical experience, knowledge and contacts that can help them secure positions at Suncor upon graduation.
Am I eligible?
Co-op and summer students must be working toward a degree or diploma at a post-secondary institution and must be returning to school full-time upon completing their work term.
